HSI408-A1 Understanding Technology

After having completed the course, the student will: have an understanding of the challenges by using ICT in the Health and Social Welfare sector be able to define security requirements for data networks and ICT systems to be used within the Health and Social Welfare sector be able to analyse problems related to security when saving and exchanging patient- and client- sensitive information, especially focusing interaction within the Health and Social Welfare sector be able to analyse the consequences on data networks and security measures when implementing new data systems within the Health and Social Welfare sector have an understanding of the structuring and modelling of a database for various solutions within the Health and Social Welfare sector be able to assist in working out specifications containing design requirements, plans for acquisition of ICT-systems and integration of different professional systems have an understanding of various design requirements and methods for evaluation through knowledge about central principles for the interaction between user and system

configuration of information - and communication technology for application in the health and social sector data communication, data networks and current security measures for cooperation within health related networks evaluation of data security according to current laws, especially with focus on confidentiality, availability, integrity and quality modelling relational databases aimed at conceptual descriptions and integration into more comprehensive professional systems application of design principles and methods for evaluation of user-system integration aimed at user satisfaction and the development/optimisation of systems adapted for users with different needs

Net-based study programme, including two week-long seminars. Lectures and study groups.
