After having completed the course, students will have: have an overview of the laws and regulations that govern the health and social services for the elderly and an understanding of the consequences that these have for the provision of services have an insight into the reasons for and consequences of different cultural and age-related changes in the population have a reflected and active attitude towards current societal and demographic challenges have a thorough insight into the conditions that enable elderly people to live in their own homes and accept responsibility for planning and providing good home-based care have a thorough understanding of the importance of informal care and the ability to cooperate actively with the elderly person´s relatives in a supporting way
Laws and regulations. The consequences of society´s development on the living conditions of elderly people. Demographics - the new users - the new. Culture and ethnicity. Teaching will be given as lectures, seminars, and group work. Emphasis will be put on dialogue as well as the students´ own activity with the purpose of developing an analytical attitude where theory and practice are seen in the same context.
