ME-414 Philosophy of science, research methodologies, and the human dimension, 10 ECTS credits

After having completed the course, students will: - be able to give an account of what it means to have a clinical perspective on nursing science - be able to give a critical assessment of different theories and models in nursing science - have an understanding of - and be able to discuss different types of knowledge in nursing - be able to give a thorough account of - and discuss extensively central topics including the human dimension, nursing, care, health, illness, and the environment - be able to assess the consequences of different perspectives on health, disease and illness

Clinical perspectives on nursing science Theories and models in nursing science - a historical, critical perspective Different types of knowledge in nursing including the understanding of evidence Nursing as a scientific and practical concept Central topics The human dimension Nursing, care Health, disease, and illness The environment Consequences of different theoretical perspectives on health and illness for the provision of health services
