After having completed the course, the students will: possess knowledge related to the intention of public health research, its means / methods and varied forms of documentation have developed the ability to think both critically and analytically have gained experience in planning, implementing and evaluating their own research projects which culminate in a written report
Hermeneutical, phenomenological, dialectical and empirical methods Qualitative and quantitative methods The study of reporting Elementary statistics / statistical programs Research sketch Project work in groups / research report Statistics: Practical introduction to the use of PC-based statistical tools will be integrated in the instruction, which will include: Descriptive statistics Frequencies, central tendency, variation The normal distribution and Z scores Correlation and Linear regression methods Basic inferential statistical methods: Independent and Dependent samples T-tests ANOVA The Chi2 test Non-parametric tests
Instruction will be organised as lectures, seminars, group and laboratory work.
Participation in compulsory supervision concerning the project assignment.
Each examination counts 50%: A graded 3-hour written individual exam A graded group project assignment
