After having completed the course, the students will: possess an understanding for group dynamic processes in addition to having created a basis for being able to actively influence the group process have an insight into coaching and instructional theories and models, as well as having developed the ability and attitude to be able to instruct and coach be able to document orally and in writing how performance, development and learning take place in various public health contexts
The module has three main areas with the following contents: Group dynamics Characteristics of various groups and teams Group processes and group structures Group cohesion and group development Teambuilding Coaching and counselling Fundamental coaching and counselling theory Central instructional and coaching methods and principles Individual/group instruction and coaching Ethics associated with instruction and coaching Learning and development Learning as a social ecological construction Motor behaviour and the theory of dynamic systems Cognition in a public health context
Instruction includes lectures and seminars. Students will be expected to contribute in the form of introductions and presentations. Due to the distinctive character of the study programme some of the instruction will take place outside the campus and be in the form of concentrated courses. Expenses incurred in association with these are the student´s responsibility. Parts of the instruction are compulsory. For more information please see the Course brochure.

The examination consists of two parts which are weighted 50 % each. One graded mark is given: An individually written article. Please see guidelines at Fronter. A two-hour written individual exam.
