FR-117-1 French Usage
Autumn
French and Norwegian
Upon completion of the course the students shall have improved their oral and written language skills. They shall be able to write in French short texts of various genres and participate in French conversation.
-Practical French -Translation -The course includes a five-week study period in Caen, France, in January/February. During the stay students interview at least two persons in French, and write a paper in French based on the two interviews. An oral and a written presentation is given at the end of the period. Students who have been granted exemption from going abroad, complete the paper and the presentation at the University of Agder. Instructions will be given by the teacher.
Lectures based on practical work.
Both a portfolio with at least four contributions of various genre and extent - including a paper related to the study trip to Caen or the approved alternative - and an oral presentation of the paper either in Caen or at University of Agder within the given dates, must be assessed as a Pass.
A 4-hour written examination in the spring semester. Undifferentiated grades, Pass/Fail.
