FR-108-1 Didactics of French in the in the Postgraduate Certificate in Education, one subject only

After having completed the course students are expected to: - be linguistic models for pupils. - actively and consciously use competency goals in the curriculum with regard to foreign language learning as a basis for foreign language instruction. - create instructional plans which contain varied teaching methods and various aids, for example,digital learning tools - connect instructional organisation to relevant subject didactic literature in French and Norwegian.
The study of didactics is based on the students' knowledge of French and proficiency is emphasised. Main topics for discussion: The national curriculum, K06, text books and other material Various teaching methods on level 1 and level 2 The use of digital tools and games that encourage communication. Various forms of pupil evaluation
Lectures and seminars with student presentations. The first part of the course, 15 to 20 lectures, is common for students of French- and German didactics, and is taught in Norwegian. The two groups are then separated and the teaching will mainly be in French.
- Approved compulsory attendance. 80% attendance is required to be allowed to take the final examination. For further information see "Samlet plan for praktisk-pedagogosk utdanning". - Four assignments must be handed in during the first term and within dates given by the teacher, and be assessed as a Pass. The assignments are to show the students' practical skills in work forms which they can use in their own teaching, tied to methods that are useful seen in the light of various educational goals. - The practice period must be assessed as a Pass.
Term paper of about 30 pages. Graded assessment. The student may choose to write in Norwegian or French.
