FIL102-1 Ethics

Philosophy, One-year Programme

Spring

Norwegian

After having completed the course students shall have acquired knowledge to enable them to relate in a reflected and critical manner to central ethical problems in society and their own lives. Students will have knowledge of central ethical theories; they will have developed perspectives and distinctions that will enable them to reflect over ethical dilemmas and challenges, alone and in dialogue with others.

The module is made as a voyage through the history of ethics, where we along the way stop to consider central positions in the contemporary ethical debate. Students are challenged to reflect in relation to specific "cases". It is in this interchange between the adaption of new theoretical knowledge and reflection over own experience that the students´ ethical abilities are developed.
