After having completed the course, the students will: possess knowledge and understanding of basic nutrition possess knowledge and understanding of nutritional microbiology be able to consider the importance of food hygiene be able to consider and discuss a health promoting diet
energy nutrients vitamins and minerals antioxidants and free radicals digestion and metabolism nutrients in food Norwegian nutritional recommendations diets in accordance with nutritional recommendations various micro-organisms the microbiology of food food preservation personal and general hygiene
Work methods will include lectures and group work. Parts of the instruction may be compulsory. Information about this will be given at the start of the semester.
