EN-501-1 Master Thesis (Alternative 2)

EN-410 and EN-411 or the equivalent, and, in addition, 60 ECTS credits in English at master's level. 30 ECTS credits must be within the same area of specialization as the master's thesis (literary or linguistic). With literary specialization, moreover, these 30 ECTS credits must fall into the category of period courses.
By working with a master thesis students -will learn to formulate research questions -use scientific research methods -give independent contributions to the subject
The thesis belonging to Alternative 2 is stipulated to take two semesters, but as part of this alternative students study a course in their third semester along with working with the thesis. The thesis should have a length of up to 15,000 words (or approx. 50 typed pages). The Alternative 2 thesis is both more limited in length than that of Alternative 1, and should also concentrate on a more limited field of research.

Before the students can start on the master's thesis all courses belonging to the first year of the master programme must have been successfully completed. The master's thesis may not be submitted for assessment before all courses have been uccellfully completed.
