EN-410-1 Literary Theory, Core Course

Upon successful completion of the course the student shall - be able to account for the development of literary research theories, and discuss topics related to chosen models - have understanding for connections and differences between the theories, as well as their applicability in the analysis of literary texts
This course offers an introduction to prominent literary theories through their application to selected literary texts. The course will give the students a common academic basis for specialising and writing their master's thesis.
Seminars.
A compulsory essay written under supervision must be assessed as a Pass. An oral presentation of an assigned topic must also be assessed as a Pass.
4-hour written examination. Graded assessment.
