At the completion of this course the students shall: - Be able to use appropriate communicative strategies for speaking and writing English in a business context - Be able to compose various types of business documents - Know how to prepare and deliver an oral presentation - Be able to use an appropriate register and vocabulary in spoken and written communication
The course aims to help students develop good comprehensive language skills in business and administrative English. The course comprises communicative strategies for speaking and writing, with a particular view to enhance students´ awareness of genre, register and appropriate vocabulary. The course takes a contrastive approach, notably by introducing English grammar issues that tend to be difficult for Norwegian speakers to handle.
Lectures and seminars. English is the language of instruction. This course has a limited number of places.
A compulsory oral presentation and two written assignments must be assessed as Pass.
A 4-hour written examination. Graded assessment.
A 6-hour written examination (50 %) and an oral examination (50 %). Differentiated grades
