SAfter having completed the course the students will gain: - increased understanding of ways in which social and historical change creates new artistic contexts for drama - insight into changes and constants in conceptions of English drama in the period close to the present, staring with its first flowering in the English Renaissance - a greater general understanding of the nature of the dramatic genre -increased competence in written and spoken English
