On successful completion of this course, the student should: - be able to use drama as an expression - be able to develop young peoples use of dramatical expressions - have attained practical and theoretical insight in the different aspects of theatre production - achieved basic theoretical and practical knowledge in theatre pedagogics - have attained knowledge of theatre theory and history

Students will experience and use drama as a means for communication and expression. Special insight into theatre for children will be given, as well as practical and theoretical knowledge of a theatre production. The students should develop their planning, teaching and evaluating skills for pupils with special needs. The course is closely related to practise. Course contents: - Drama as a mode of expression - Theatre production - Drama theory - Drama pedagogics and methodical classroom work

The course makes use of lectures, group seminars and practical work. Integrated theoretical and practical work. Compulsory theatre practice.

- Compulsory assignments, assessed as passed - Teaching practice, assessed as passed

- One essay, 8-10 pages (20%). - One individual oral examination based on the theatre production and relevant theory (20%) - One practical examination in groups of 3 to 5 members. Individual assessment (60%). Assessed on the basis A-F (with A as the highest level and F as fail).
