DR-101-1 Drama 1 - Introduction to Drama and Theatre

On successful completion of this course, the student should: - be able to use theatre as an expression - have attained practical and theoretical insight in the different aspects of theatre production - achieve basic theoretical and practical knowledge in theatre pedagogics - have attained knowledge of theatre theory - be able to plan, teach and evaluate theatre for children

Students will develop knowledge of dramatic voice and movement training, theatre practise and theory. Theatre for children is an important subject of the course, and the students will be enabled to analyse and assess theatre for children. Course contents: - Drama as a mode of expression - Drama theory - Drama pedagogics and methodical classroom work

The course makes use of lectures, group seminars and practical work. Integrated theoretical and practical work. Compulsory theatre practice.

- Compulsory assignments. - Theatre practice assessed as passed.

- One 3-days practical group exam. Individual assessment (60%). - One 7-days individual take-home exam (essay) (40%). Assessed on the basis A-F (with A as the highest level and F as fail).
