Norwegian and English. Lectures are in Norwegian. Textbooks are in English, and international students are offered special tuition in English.
On successful completion of the course, the student should: - understand how IT-strategy interacts with the organizations overall strategy - have knowledge of selected IT-systems in typical companies - understand what is needed to administer IT systems in an organization - be able to state the need for, plan and implement IT solutions in an organization.
Introduction to terms and methods in information strategy work and some economical problems related to information technology. A presentation of some business information systems. Relations between business and ICT strategy. Planning processes. Overview of system functions and integration. Technical and organisational questions concerning purchasing, introduction, maintenance and adjusting business information systems. Some problems concerning administration of business information systems. Brief overview of cost benefit analysis.
Lectures, discussion groups and coaching in connection with group projects. Cooperation in groups is stressed.
Portifolio with group projects, and oral group presentation where the groups are given joint grades. Graded assessment.
