After completing the course, students should: Be well known with the most common data structures used in programming. Be able to choose appropriate data structures in practical use and to generate and analyse appropriate algorithms on these data structures.
The course provides the student with a thorough knowledge of the theory of algorithms and data structures. It includes the following topics in data structures: Array, list, stack, queue, tree, graph. Java (and sometimes a bit C++) is used in the course.
Lectures, e-teaching, and laboratory exercises that include programming.
Students must pass compulsory assignments in order to take the examination. Compulsory assignments are given in Fronter by the start of the semester.
Written examination, 4 hours. Graded assessment.
