BYG204-G Urban Planning

Civil Engineering, Bachelor Programme , 2-year Programme in Civil Engineering, 2-year Programme

BYG108 and BYG111 or equivalent.

After completing the course, the student is expected to have theoretical knowledge and practical skills in urban planning.

How to plan urban areas, combining knowledge from architecture, house building, and road- and sanitary engineering. The aim is to obtain areas that are well-functioning, both social, technical, aesthetical and economical.

Lectures 4 hours per week and project work 4 hours per week in groups.

Satisfactory submission of compulsory exercises.

Written examination, 4 hours (30 % contribution to final assessment) and portfolio with project work (70 % contribution to final assessment). Graded assessment. The portfolio must be assessed to Pass to take the written examination. The candidate may be examined orally with regards to the portfolio. The examination may give basis for individual assessment also on the group work.
