BYG201-G Engineering Structures in Timber and Steel Structures
Civil Engineering, Bachelor Programme , 2-year Programme in Civil Engineering, 2-year Programme

BYG110 or equivalent.
After completing the course, the student is expected to have skills in analysing and dimensioning of timber and steel constructions.
How constructions respond to stresses, by determining Norwegian legal claims and regulations on how to design structures of steel and timber. Attention is paid to dimensioning and documenting the use of the materials in beams, columns, floors, walls and joints.
Lectures 4 hours per week and exercises 4 hours per week.
Satisfactory submission of compulsory exercises.
4-hour individual written examination under supervision. Graded assessment.
