Having completed the course, students will be able to give an account of basic concepts and principles in general terrestrial ecology. The students will also be able to identify different terrestrial environments, apply simple methods for vegetation analyses and ecological measurements, and compare, discuss and present the results.
Basic concepts and principles in terrestrial ecology. The course deals with fundamental processes and functional ecology.
The students are required to take part actively in lectures and field work, and submit a compulsory report after the field work.
Attendance at compulsory field work must be approved, and an individual field report must be assessed as a Pass before the student is allowed to take the final examination.
3- hour individual written examination. Graded assessment.
