Getting to the University of Agder

by plane: the closest airport is Kristiansand Airport, Kjevik. From Kjevik, you can take the airport bus to Grimstad/Arendal and an ordinary bus to Kristiansand (the schedule is in Norwegian - the airport is KJEVIK, the central station is Kristiansand rb.st. and the university is Universitetet i Agder).

by train: Kristiansand is a main station on the Sørland line ("Sørlandsbanen") which goes from Oslo S to Stavanger. Arendalsbanen goes from Nelaug station on the Sørland line to Arendal station. Grimstad does not have a train connection, but buses run to Grimstad from Arendal Station and Kristiansand Station.

by bus to Gimlemoen, Kristiansand: The Gimlemoen campus in Kristiansand has bus stops for local and long distance buses (to and from east of Kristiansand centre). Schedules can be found at http://www.177-agder.no/ The nearest bus stop is "Spicheren/UiA".

by bus to Musikkens hus, Kongens gate 54, Kristiansand: The Music Conservatory is located in Musikkens hus, in the centre of Kristiansand, in walking distance of the train and bus stations. The nearest bus stop is "Kvadraturen Skolesenter" in Tollbodgaten, see http://www.177-agder.no/

by bus to Grooseveien, Grimstad: Buses from the west follow the E 18, turn in at the Statoil station, and continue toward the centre of Grimstad. Get off at Grooseveien. The underpass and path to the university are sign-posted. Buses from the east follow E 18 and Arendalsveien to Grimstad bus station. by bus to Dømmesmoen, Grimstad: From Grimstad bus station, take local bus # 42 along highway 404. Get off at Nordåskrysset. Dømmesmoen is about 200 m from the road. Bus schedules are available at http://www.177-agder.no/.

by bus to Sykehusveien, Arendal: Buses from the east and west arrive at the bus station at Kulturhuset. Local buses leave from the bus station to the hospital (bus # 13). UiA Arendal is right next to the hospital (see map). Bus schedules are available at http://www.177-agder.no/.

by car toGimlemoen, Kristiansand: Coming from the west, follow the E 39 until it changes name to E 18 in the Baneheia tunnel at Kristiansand centre. Drive across the Oddernes Bridge (stay in the centre lane) into the Oddernes Tunnel (stay in the right lane). Turn right onto the first exit after the tunnel. Take the first exit, to the right, in the roundabout - toward Presteheia Tunnel. Follow the signs to the University ("Universitetet"). Take the second exit in the next roundabout, and the second exit in the roundabout after the bridge. Follow the road (called Gimlemoen) straight ahead. The main entrance is straight ahead - Henrik Wergelands Hus.

Coming from the east, follow E 18 to the toll station at Bjørndalssletta. Take a right just after the tollbooth, take the second exit on the roundabout toward Presteheia Tunnel. Follow the signs to the University. Take the second exit in the next roundabout, and the second exit in the roundabout after the bridge. Follow the road (called Gimlemoen) straight ahead. The main entrance is straight ahead - Henrik Wergelands Hus.

Coming from the north, from Setesdalsveien, take the third exit (toward Oslo) in the roundabout just after the tollbooth at Kristiansand cemetery. Follow the lane through Baneheia Tunnelat Kristiansand centre. Drive across the Oddernes Bridge (stay in the centre lane) into the Oddernes Tunnel (stay in right lane). Turn right onto the first exit after the tunnel. Take the first exit, to the right, in the roundabout - toward Presteheia Tunnel. Follow the signs to the University. Take the second exit in the next roundabout, and the second exit in the roundabout after the bridge. Follow the road (called Gimlemoen) straight ahead. by car to Musikkens hus, Kongens gate 54, Kristiansand: Coming from the west, follow the E 39 uit changes name to the E 18 in the Baneheia tunnel at Kristiansand centre. Stay in the right lane, and take the first exit toward Kristiansand centre. Follow the centre lane in the second exit on the roundabout at the exit of the tunnel, take Festningsgata straight ahead as far as you can (to Østre Strandgate). Take a left onto Østre Strandgate. Drive two blocks (to Kronprinsens gate). Take a left up Kronprinsens gate. Drive one block (to Kongens gate). Take a left onto Kongens gate (it's a one-way street). Musikkens hus is at the end of the block, on the right.

Coming from the east, follow the E 18 through the tollbooth at Bjørndalssletta, Oddernes Tunnel, Oddernes Bridge and through Baneheia Tunnel. Take the second exit toward Kristiansand centre. by car to Grooseveien, Grimstad: Coming from the west, follow the E 18 to the first exit to Grimstad (by the Statoil station). Take the second exit in the roundabout, Highway 420 Vesterled. Follow Vesterled via the second exit in the next roundabout. Take a left onto Grooseveien (sign-posted to the University).

Coming from the east, follow the E 18 to the third exit to Grimstad (by the Statoil station). Take the second exit in the roundabout, Highway 420 Vesterled. Follow Vesterled via the second exit in the next roundabout. Take a left onto Grooseveien (sign-posted to the University).

by car to Dømmesmoen, Grimstad: Coming from the east or west, follow the E 18 to the second exit to Grimstad/Herefoss. Follow Highway 404 from Grimstad to Herefoss past Frivoll to Nordås. Drive to the right toward Dømmesmoen (sign-posted).

by car to Sykehusveien, Arendal: Coming from the east or the west, follow the E 18 to the exit to Arendal at Harebakken. Take the second exit on the roundabout and follow Highway 410 to the traffic light. Take a right at the light, onto Parkveien. Take the first road to the right, Dydens vei. Follow Dydens veil to the intersection at the hospital, Kloppene. Paid parking at the hospital, or up Sykehusveien, and parking at UiA-Arendal.
