Postponed examination
In accordance with section 26 of the Examination Regulations for the University of Agder, it may be possible to take an exam over again if you are not pleased with your performance the first time you tried. Normally, you can retake the exam the next time the course is offered (Fall courses - exams in December, Spring courses - exams in May).
However, if you failed on an exam or if you were sick (with a doctor's letter) when the exam was given, you can request that a new exam is offered in the following semester. If a new exam is offered during the next semester (as a result of the request of a failure or illness), then all students who wish to try to improve their performance can retake the exam.
You need to sign up before February 1st. even if you do not know if the exam will be offered in May.
Short summary:
- If you failed a course in the Fall or you were sick on the day of the exam - ask for a new exam in May. (Ask by Feb. one)
- If you passed in December, but want to try for an improved grade, sign up (by Feb. one) for the May exam in case it is offered.
- If the exam is not offered in May - you will have to wait for the next time the course is offered, probably in the Fall.
