TB testing (Mantoux test and chest X-ray)
Tuberculosis examination is mandatory for some groups. This includes persons from countries where tuberculosis is common and who will be spending more than three months in Norway. The examination consists of a skin test, possibly a blood sample and a chest x-ray.

In 2009, the following countries are considered to have a high degree of Tuberculosis:
- WHO European region: Albania, Armenia, Aserbajdsjan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Estonia, Georgia, Belorussia, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Kosovo, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Tadzhikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
- Rest of the world: All countries, except USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and New –Zealand.
Please note that test results which indicate tuberculosis infection will not have negative consequences for work or resident permit applications.
