Semester registration and confirmation of your individual education plan

Here you will find directions and supplementary information regarding semester registration and confirmation of your individual education plan on StudentWeb.

What is semester registration?

Before the start of each semester, you must register as a student at the University of Agder for the current semester. Go to StudentWeb to complete your semester registration. Semester registration is available from 10 July for the autumn semester and 10 December for the spring semester.

General information about semester registration is available here >>> [not available yet]

Important to remember

  • It is the students’ own responsibility to make sure that all necessary registrations are completed within the closing dates.

  • After you have completed your semester registration, make sure that your home page on StudentWeb says “Completed semester registration: [current semester]”.

  • If you fail to pay the semester fee within 1 September / 1 February, your examination registrations will be removed, and you will not be registered as a student for the current semester.

  • All closing dates and deadlines are absolute as long as there are no special grounds for delay.

  • Failing to meet the deadlines for registration can have serious consequences, e.g. delay the completion of your studies.

Semester registration step by step

Click “Semester registration” in the StudentWeb menu. Students who do not have an education plan will be forwarded directly to the third screen (“Registrations”).

Education plan part 1 - general section (skip this if you do NOT have an education plan)

Part 1 of the education plan is the general section which contains relevant information for your study programme. As a new student, you have to read this and confirm that you have read and understood the content by checking off on the bottom-most point. Once you have checked off, you will go directly to education plan part 2 the next time you log on to StudentWeb. If you would like to see part 1 of your education plan again later, you have to use the pointer directed at Education plan part 1 under Insight in the menu.

Education plan part 2 - individual section (skip this if you do NOT have an education plan)

You have to confirm your individual education plan for each semester to be registered as a student.

Read through Education plan part 2. If the information is correct, click on “Confirm plan” and go to the next step.

If you find anything that is not correct, please contact a student adviser at your faculty. Abort the registration so that no incorrect information is registered. Be aware that a removal of a course in your Education plan is not the same as a withdrawal from the examination.

If you are registered for two or more study programmes, you must confirm education plan part 2 individually for each programme. If this is the case, the different plans will be available from a pull-down menu at the top of the screen.

Registrations

Now you are presented with a list of all your automatic registrations based on the information given in Education plan part 2. Make sure you are registered for classes AND examinations for all the courses you are following this semester. Class registration is needed to attend lectures and for access to the course room in Fronter. Exam registration is necessary for admission to the examination.

If you wish to register for a class or examination for a course, click the pencil symbol to the right of the course. If you want to register for a course which is not on your list (e.g for a postponed examination/resit), you can do this by clicking the button “Add new course”. More information about registration and withdrawal can be found here >>>.

Other information

In the next displays you have to make sure your address is correct, indicate whether or not you want other people/students to be able to find your name in the institution’s directory service, choose your language (this affects which language your examination assignments will be presented in) and choose the faculty where you want to use your vote for student elections (only if you are taking courses at different faculties at the same time). When you have completed your registrations, you will be sent back to your home page on StudentWeb.
