The centre is a competence and resource centre for the development of power production from offshore wind. It builds on knowledge obtained from Norwegian offshore technology and expertise in wind energy from Denmark. Christian Michelsen Research (CMR) is project manager for NORCOWE. Other centres at UiA
In order to focus attention on specific research areas, which in many cases reach beyond the university’s formal scientific and academic structure, a part of UiA’s research activities are organised into centres. These centres may involve businesses and community life outside the institution. An overview of the UiA-based centres is found here.
