Research

The Department of Education will conduct research, instruct, communicate and work together while maintaining a major focus on didactics.

The Department’s research profile is the following: basic and applied research will be structured around the following five areas: knowledge, technology, profession, instruction and inclusion.

Knowledge

Because in the development of the knowledge society’s with its diverse learning contexts and competencies (from basic to expert), they provide the conclusive terms for didactic activity.

Technology
Because technological development – not least within information and communication technology and new forms of media – is changing basic conditions and creating new opportunities for learning arenas of the future.

Profession
Because it is within and through professionalism that didactic challenges will be met.

Instruction
Because instruction is the core of didactics.

Inclusion
Because inclusion introduces the possibility of replacing an individual perspective with a sociological perspective, one which is capable of identifying all types of obstacles for children and young people’s participation in developmental and learning processes. The concept of inclusion has appeared as a reaction towards a disability-oriented type of special education.
