Research and Artistic Development Work

The Faculty of Fine Arts' research and development activities are connected to research, development and artistic performance in the areas of drama/theatre, music and arts and crafts.

The Faculty's academic staff largely have two-fold competence: both artistic and scientific. Artistic performance is the focus of many staff members, while for others didactic competence is most prominent.

The Faculty of Fine arts will, through directed research and development activities, dissemination and artistic development work, strengthen the quality of education in fine arts subjects, profile the unique character and potential of the fine arts, and contribute to critical reflection.

The Faculty of Fine Arts has a special responsibility for developing a good research milieu for fine arts at Agder University College. The Faculty's research efforts should also engage and include other cultural institutions in Agder.
