Czeck visit to look at UiA student welfare services
The Tecnical University of Ostrava from the Czech Republic visited the University of Agder to see how UiA facilitates for students.
The Tecnical University of Ostrava has received EEA-funds for a project looking at student welfare services. UiA is a partner institution in this project and the Department of Teacher education were hosts to the Czech delegation that visited UiA last Friday.
The delegation of five visited SiA's Hokus Pokus day care centre to look at what UiA offers to students with children and to see how the day care centre on campus is run. The guests were also interested in seeing how UiA facilitates for students with disabilities and learnt more about this through talks with an advisor at the Office for students with disabilities .
On the programme was also e-learning at UiA, the visitors especially wanted to see what arrangements UiA makes for students that are not able to follow their studies on campus. There was also time for a guided tour through the campus to look at what welfare and cultural activities that are offered.
The Czech guests spent the rest of the weekend exploring Kristiansand.
