National Survey gives AUC top marks
"It is great fun that we score so well on the country's largest student survey," says Rector Ernst Håkon Jahr. "It tells us that it's good to be a student at AUC, and this is a very important foundation for good teaching and learning."
As they have for four years running, the AUC students who were surveyed gave AUC top marks.
Ask 2,600 students
The country's five largest local newspapers are behind the survey, but it is carried out by TNS Norsk Gallup and NIFU STEP.
One study programme is focused upon each year, while students of several other programmes are also surveyed on how they are doing in general.
This year, 2600 students at 20 institutions participated in the survey.
Top of the class
The main focus of this year's survey was Teacher Education in Norway. The magazine has visited all of the institutions offering Teacher Education to find out how the students were doing. And AUC was at the top of the class.
- "Teacher Education students in Kristiansand give the university college a mark of 5,1 (out of 6) when they are asked how pleased they are. This is the best mark in the country. They also give best marks on the question of how good the academic quality of the study programme is. There, they give a mark of 4,9. We are at the top of the class," says Jahr.
Satisfied History students
In addition to Teacher Education, History students also participated in the most recent survey. They give the university college very good marks, both overall and on the academic quality. Of eight institutions, only students at Bodø University College are more satisfied with their overall impression than students at AUC.
The best place to be in the whole country
Also outside of studies, AUC students are very satisfied. Kristiansand students especially rate the student cafeteria a great place to be. For the third year in a row, Kafe Kampus in Kristiansand has been named the country's best student cafeteria.
With a good environment, high academic quality, a good administrative support system and the country's newest and nicest campus, the good social atmosphere (including the cafeteria) makes AUC in Kristiansand the student magazine's choice for the best place to thrive in the country.
"Well, what shall I say?" says Rector Ernst Håkon Jahr. "Why not come and see for yourself?
