Getting to Kristiansand

Plane: the closest airport is Kristiansand Airport, Kjevik. Both SAS and Norwegian fly to Kristiansand. Regular airport express bus services to Kristiansand.

Train: Kristiansand is a main station on the Sørland Line, which runs from Oslo S (Central station) to Stavanger. For tickets and train timetables, please go to NSB's webpages

Long distance bus: Buses run regularly in all directions to and from Kristiansand. All lines stop at the central bus station, Kristiansand rutebilstasjon. Most buses to and from Oslo, Grimstad and Arendal also stop outside Spicheren, next to the Gimlemoen campus. Major bus service providers include:

Ferry: Color Line runs a fast ferry service to Hirtshals in the north of Denmark (website in Norwegian only).

The Gimlemoen campus in Kristiansand has bus stops for local and long distance buses (to and from east of Kristiansand centre). Schedules can be found at http://www.177-agder.no/ The nearest bus stop is Spicheren/UiA.

Bus passes must be purchased in person at Kristiansand rutebilstasjon, the central bus station in Kristiansand. Opening hours: Weekdays 0700-1900, Saturdays 1000-1500, Sundays 1330-1900. Price information can be found here (in Norwegian only).
