Staff Mobility

The EU Lifelong Learning Programme action encompasses mobility of staff from higher education institutions going to a partner higher education institutions or to an enterprise, for the purpose of receiving training.

Within the Lifelong Learning Programme, Erasmus, UiA offers the following programmes for staff members:

Staff mobility for training

Are you interested in a period abroad to participate in a language course, a seminar, a conference or another form of training? Please read more here.

Staff mobility for teaching

Are you interested in teaching at one of UiAs partner institutions within the EU? Please read more her.

EU’s guidelines for the stipulation of the grant:

The grant for staff mobility for training and staff mobility for teaching is to cover travel expences and give financial aid to living expenses in the host country. The EU-commision’s rates for living expensives in the different countries must not be exceeded and one must also be aware of the fact that these, rates normally are lower than the rates in the Norwegian state’s travel regulations. While Norway has one rate for lodging and one for board, the EU has one rate which covers both board and lodging.

In connection with short stays and reasonable priced plane tickets (applies especially for staff mobility for teaching), you may experience that the one week grant will be less than 800 Euro while longer stays can exceed 800 Euro. This is acceptable and 800 Euro is only a norm of distribution used by the Centre for International Cooperation in Higher Education (SIU) because we do not know which countries staff will go to when the applications are being considered.

The International Education Office offers grants to shorter stays at a university or enterprise, organisation or institution within the EU. This action is part of the EU Lifelong Learning Programme and is called staff mobility for training.

The purpose of this grant is to enhance the international activity at UiA. All staff, including technical-adminstrative staff, can apply. The stay should last from 1 - 6 weeks, but the normal timeframe is one week. The grant is EUR 800.

The grant is to be used for training. This training should benefit the staff member and the members of his/her department/unit.

This means that the grant cannot be used for teaching, research, the planning of or participation in professional conferences related to one`s own projects. The grant can however be used to participate in language courses.
