Academic Exchange with China
Beijing Normal University (BN, http://www.bnu.edu.cn/eng/)
Our collaboration with the School of Foreign Languages and Literatures was established by Professor Paul Thibault from UiA and researchers at BNU. This will now be extended to other researchers at both universities. Until now, academic collaboration has mainly been concentrated on linguistics, through academic exchanges between researches from both institutions.

BNU is rated highly among Chinese Universities.
China Three Gorges University (CTGU, http://www.ctgu.edu.cn/en/)
The contact with CTGU has so far resulted in a course in Chinese Language and Culture in 2007-2008 at the University of Agder, conducted by Professor Liu Haidi. The course was very popular among both staff and students at UiA, and also included participants from outside the institution.
CTGU is a relatively new university. Situated close to the Three Gorges Dam it has hydrotechnics as one of its specialities. Our collaboration with CTGU is an extension of the well-established contact between CTGU and the Faculty of Engineering and Science.
Wuhan University (WU, http://www.whu.edu.cn/en/)
At Wuhan University, the faculty has established collaboration with the School of Chinese Language and Literature. Professor Andreas Lombnæs from UiA has established an academic exchange project in literary science with Professor Xianfeng Tu at Wuhan. Further collaboration could include courses in Chinese at our UiA taught by teachers from Wuhan University. Wuhan University is a highly prestigious university, located in Wuhan, which is considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in China. With more than 8 million inhabitants and several large universities, Wuhan is one of China's most important educational centres.
