Master's Programme in Community Mental Health Work
The Faculty of Health and Sports Sciences offers a wide choice of continuing education programmes in health and social care. The faculty also offers a Master's Programme in Community Mental Health Work. The programme is open to candidates with a three-year bachelor's degree in health or social care and at least one year of relevant work experience.
The programme comprises 120 ECTS credits, and qualifies for application to PhD (doctoral) programmes. It covers the requirements of the Norwegian National Guidelines for interdisciplinary diploma courses in mental health care. In addition, from autumn 2009, it will cover the requirements of the Norwegian Directorate of Health’s requirements for interdisciplinary training in psychosocial work with children and young people. The programme aims at developing independent, work-oriented proficiency in mental health care and leads to the degree of MSc in Community Mental Health Work.
