New music building in Kristiansand

This new building will be of approximately 3400m2 and contain offices, rehearsal rooms and Music studio for the Executive music studies. The narrow premises in Kongensgate will be replaced by new and room for students and employees.

Sigurd Koehns House
is named after saxophonist Sigurd Køhn from Kristiansand who died during the tsunami in Thailand in 2004, only 45 years old.
Nationally, he was a shining star at jazz heaven, but he was also involved in many other rhythmic genres. He is known among others from The Real Thing and Lava. He also had his own Quartet; Sigurd Køhn Quartet. Several of the staff of the faculty have been playing with Sigurd Køhn.
