Agder University College
Agder University College was established in 1994 when six regional colleges merged as a result of the national university college reform.
Organization and activity
The oldest regional college involved in the merger was Kristiansand Teacher Training College, from 1839. The university college which was closest to being considered a full university was Agder Regional College of Technology, established in 1969.
The merger established an institution with 5,700 students and 540 academic and administrative staff.
The university college was organized into seven faculties with the teacher training programmes (pre-school teacher education, general teacher education and practical-pedagogical education) organized interdisciplinarily.
