Have you been admitted to a PhD programme at an educational institution other than UiA?

If so, you may apply for guest PhD student status on the "600" and "700" PhD courses at the PhD programme in technology at UiA.

Guest PhD students that are enrolled at a PhD programme do not register for the semester and do not pay semester fee. However, to be considered for admission in order to receive guest PhD student status, the following has to be done:

• Complete and submit the application for guest PhD student status with the following attachments:
  • Documentation of admission to a PhD programme
  • Confirmation that the course(s) for which you seek guest PhD student status is part of your PhD coursework component at your home institution

- 5 January for the spring semester
- 20 August for the autumn semester

Undocumented applications will not be processed.

You will receive information on email about how you should proceed when the application has been evaluated by UiA.

For applicants who are not enrolled in a PhD programme

You may apply for admission to courses with available capacity, and that also includes courses at PhD level.

Students admitted to individual courses, follow the regular classes and have the same rights and obligations as students with regular admission to studies at university, but admission to a course is limited to the single course they are admitted to. Students on individual courses have to pay semester fee.

Admission requirements to PhD courses are relevant master's degree or equivalent with A or B on the thesis and the average grade of A or B on the other master's thesis. See more specific details in the supplementary regulations for each PhD programme.

Application forms must be completed and sent to the Admission Office (see address on the application form or eksamen@uia.no (indicate "PhD course Grimstad" in the subject field of the email)). Requirements must be met and documentation must accompany the application.
