Exciting solar cell research in the Energy Park
An important solar cell conference was arranged in Dresden, Germany in September. Agder University College was represented by Professor Tor O. Sætre who presented research results from the Energy Park.
It was a big conference with 2500 participants. The industry was heavily represented, and there was a big exhibition connected to the conference itself. Internationally, a big issue is filling the demand for silesium which can be used as a raw material in solar cell production. The market for solar cells is growing, and the industry is investing in new factories all over the world. Norway has a fast-growing solar cell industry. It is therefore important to undertake research on solar cells in Norway.
