Preliminary Courses

Do you wish to become an engineer, but do not fulfill the formal admission requirements? The University of Agder offers a one-year Preliminary Course for Engineers, one-semester course in Science and technology, and TRES (a three-semester first year of study for engineering students).

Proficiency in Norwegian is an admission requirement for these courses.

One-year Preliminary Course for Engineers

The Preliminary Course is an undergraduate programme for applicants who may have a vocational education from upper secondary school, applicants who do not fill the requirements in mathematics and physics for ordinary admission to our study programmes in engineering, or adults with a longtime working experience. One-year preliminary courses are given in Kristiansand as well as Grimstad.

TRES

TRES is a first year course for students who already have obtained university admission certification, but lack the formal deeper understanding in mathematics and physics (R2 and Fysikk 1).

Science and technology

Science and technology is a one-semester (spring term) undergraduate study programme for applicants who do not fill the admission requirements in mathematics and physics to our study programmes in engineering.
