Denne side på norsk

The equipment below is used by staff and students for rapid prototyping of new mechatronic products and designs. The equipment is linked to courses such as CAD/CAM design, Product Development, Industrial Robotics and bachelor and masters theses. The equipment is also used for contract work for external companies.

Laser Tracker and FARO mesurement arm:

FARO Laser Tracker

As the first educational institution in Norway, UiA has invested in a FARO laser tracker, for high-precision measurements in mechatronics. This equipment can measure 3-dimensional positions with micrometer precision. In addition UiA has invested in a FARO Fusion Arm with a laser line scanner. This equipment is used in product development and generation of 3D CAD files from physical objects.

3-axis CNC Machine:

3-Axis CNC

CNC-maskinen programmeres fra DAK/DAM programvare og brukes til 3-akse (X,Y,Z) maskinering av metal (hovedsaklig aluminium og stål).

6-axis ABB IRB1400-1.44 and IRB6600-2.55 Robots:

Robot Lab 2009

Robot Lab 2009

These two robots are also programmed by CAD/CAM software and is used for 5-axis (X,Y,Z and two angles) milling of large objects made of wood, plastics, ceramics, composites or soft metals (aluminium).

3D Printer:

3D Printer

This 3D printer is used for RAPID prototyping of smaller objects.

Milling Machine for Electronic Circuit Boards:

PCB Fres

This milling machine is used to mill PCBs for electronic circuits.

Tensile Testing Machine (Strekkprøvemaskin in Norwegian)::

Strekkprøvemaskin

This equipment is used to test characteristics of materials, such as stiffness, forces, crack growth, failures, etc.

Dynamisk strekkprøvemaskin

Dynamic tensile testing machine from SI-Plan. Specifications: load 25kN, stroke LVDT 100mm, calibration 0.50%, horizontal test length 405mm, max test frequency 100Hz.
