Research
The research focuses on how IT-based information systems may be used for improving business practice. This involves research topics such as Enterprise Systems implementations; business process modelling; e-business; IS evalution; knowledge management and communities of practice; e-collaboration; and adoption and diffusion of IT innovations.
The research of the centre contributes to an essential and critical exploration of the incorporation of IS solutions in business processes and how these can support various organizations. One important component of the reserach will be studying how implementation of overall business solutions influence organizations from various business perspectives. This knowledge would be particularly important for organizations' ability to make strategically wise moves related to the development of a more network oriented business.
In Centre for Enterprise Systems, we focus particularly on the study of and research into the use of Enterprise Systems in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The surveying of what promotes and hinders use of these systems, as well as developing an evironment for stimulating local SMEs to become more advances users of Enterprise Systems - both internally and in their relations with other businesses - is a key object for the centre.
