The understanding of Information Technology and its role in the creation of economic value is increasingly important for success both in commerce and industry and public administration.

Enterprise Systems are Information Systems used as support for areas ranging from economics and HRM to logistics and customer service, and have become essential to business and public management.

Centre for Enterprise Systems (CENS) is a strategically important area with Faculty for Economics and Social Sciences, as it is a response to the business community's demand for candidates with knowledge and experience of Enterprise Systems.

Vision

Centre for Enterprise Systems will make University of Agder nationally recognized as a centre for innovative research and teaching. This will provide our candidates with an advantage in the labour market as well as providing businesses, industry and public management with candidates skilled in the technology and systems in use.

The centre’s three primary objectives are to:

  • Develop hands-on course modules using Enterprise Systems. Such modules are included in courses in Information Systems and Business Administration
  • Act as a resource centre for Norwegian businesses on acquisition and implementation of Enterprise Systems
  • Do research and publish regularly in recognized international scientific journals
