Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences
The Faculty has more than 2600 students and nearly 150 employees. There are five departments and one centre at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences. One of the departments is located in Grimstad. The remaining units and the majority of faculty and staff members are located in Kristiansand.
The picture shows the Faculty's building at campus Gimlemoen in Kristiansand. The building is named after Eilert Sundt (1817-1875) who was a ground-breaking researcher in Norwegian social science.
A brief presentation of UiA and the Faculty
A new edition of the Faculty's English brochure is now available. The brochure provides background information about the university and the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences. Special attention is paid to our three PhD programmes.

New book by professor Jarle Trondal
Professor Jarle Trondal has published a new book called An Emergent European Executive Order at Oxford University Press.
The book is intended for scholars and students of political science and those interested in the European Union, international relations, political institutions, and public administration.

Professor Trondal is a member of the core faculty for the PhD programme in Public Administration .
Department of Political Science and Management takes on prestigious project
Dag Ingvar Jacobsen
The department will carry out a comprehensive evaluation of inter-municipal collaboration in Norway, assigned by the Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development.
The Department of Political Science and Management landed the project in severe competition with nine other highly qualified municipal and regional research milieus in Norway.
