Courses in English 2010-11

Courses taught in English are open to students from partner institutions. UiA expects students to have good command of the English language and sufficient academic background for the courses they select.

Faculty of Humanities and Education

The Faculty of Humanities and Education offers the following 30 ECTS credit (full-semester) programmes:

  • Norwegian Society, Education and Culture (NORSEC) - autumn 2010
  • Course package in Humanities and Education - autumn 2010
  • Comparative Educational Studies (PED116 & PED221) - spring 2011

In addition, the Faculty of Humanities and Education offers many individual courses that exchange students are free to choose. The complete selection and descriptions of all courses can be found here.

Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences

The Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences offers courses taught in English in Business, International Management, Information Systems, Political Science and Sociology. You will find a full overview here.

In addition, the Faculty runs a summer school from June - August. If you are interested in the summer school, please apply directly to the European Integration Summer School.

Faculty of Health and Sport

Spring semester 2011, the Department of Sport will offer its popular 30 ECTS (full semester) Outdoor Education and Nature Guiding programme. Please note: All Autumn courses in the Department of Sport will be taught in Norwegian. Only the spring courses are taught in English. To take Outdoor Education, you must be able to swim.

Outdoor Education and Guiding consists of two courses:

FRI 109 Basic Outdoor Activities Theory and

FRI 111 Outdoor Activities Teaching: Mountain/Forest - Waterways, Sea and Coastline

The Faculty of Health and Sport also offers practical placements in Social Education and Nursing to students from partner institutions. You will find more details here.

Faculty of Engineering, Mathematics and Science

Courses in Mathematics and Natural Science are offered on the Kristiansand campus. Engineering and ICT are offered on the Grimstad Campus. You will find a full overview here.
