Bachelor's Programme in IT and Information Systems
Spring
English.
The course is based on previous courses in the Bachelor Programme.
Students will develop skills in project work, project management and quality assurance through development of an information system for an external customer. Through the project, students will develop skills necessary to manage the central tasks in system development and quality assurance. By using skills and knowledge from all three years of the study program students will reflect on own work, for example choice of system development method or different actions to secure quality. The project group will have close contact with employer, and through this gain experience in cooperation and communication in a professional context.
The course is project oriented. Students establish their own project groups. They must participate in one or several phases/activities in developing a computer-based information system for an enterprise/organisation. The university receives enquiries about projects from external companies. In cases of the university not having sufficient projects, the students may establish projects on their own.
The teacher must approve the project before students start working on the project. Project report and application must be handed in for censorship.
Course material must be generated to a great extent through student initiative. Project work will be accompanied by counselling sessions/guidance with the teacher.
Though project results are important, strong emphasis is placed on the development process, both with regard to interpersonal skills and the IT professional/technical skills.
Application (or another product of the development work) and a project report is required.
Groupwise oral examination. Individual grades based on:
