First year study in Sport and Physical Education, elementary course in sport (university) or other relevant sports related education, a minimum of 60 credits.
The study programme contains three courses, each of 10 credits. IDR200 Social science in Sport II: The main topics are learning and motor behaviour, coaching and group dynamics. IDR201 Biological Aspects of Exercise 3: The main topics are physiology and physical activity. IDR202 Research Methods in Physical Education and Sport: The main topics are problems related to theory of science and methods in general, and to physical activity and sports in particular. An introduction to statistics is given and an assignment related to sports or physical activity research must be written.

The Examination Regulations of the University of Agder regulate the graduation requirements for each programme of study.
After completed the study programme, the student will possess an extended professional understanding of sports and physical education. The programme will contribute to increased knowledge of group dynamic processes, coaching and learning in general, and motor learning in particular. Further on the student will have basic knowledge of the scientific research process related to sports, extended qualifications for engagements within the leisure sports field, and for working in primary, secondary and upper secondary school. Additionally, the study programme forms a professional basis for further studies within sports science.
All laboratory instruction and excursions are mandatory (100% attendance). Language of instruction: Norwegian

Arrangements are made for international exchange. The faculty is internationally engaged through the EU-programmes Nordplus and Erasmus, and elsewhere in Europe and also Australia. Please refer to the faculty´s web-pages and to the International Department for further information.
This one semester programme qualifies for master studies in Sport Science and for coaching within physical education and sport. The programme can be included in the Bachelor Physical Education and Sport or in a self chosen bachelor programme.
Qualification awarded None. 30 credits.
