Admission requirements The programme is a continuation of a bachelor programme of 180 credits. See the admission requirements for Master's programmes at University of Agder. A basic knowledge of Research Methods is required, so students without at least 7,5 credits Research Methodology or equivalent, are required to take ME-100 Research Methods in Social Sciences (10 credits) in addition to their ordinary workload of 30 credits during their first semester.

General description and profile of the programme The programme is a two-year, full time programme, but students may take the programme over a longer period if studying part time. Admission takes place both for Autumn and Spring semesters.

Graduation requirements The Examination Regulations of the University of Agder regulate the graduation requirements for each programme of study.

Learning outcomes Students in the Master 's Degree Programme in Information Systems will acquire a broad knowledge and understanding of the role of IT/IS in achieving strategic goals and an increased efficiency and competitiveness in an organization. Graduates will be capable of managing systems development projects and IT-based restructuring processes both in the private and public sector. They will also have methodology skills enabling them to accomplish and implement research projects within the Informations Systems field.

Teaching methods Teaching methods include: lectures, seminars, group work, project work, practice in the PC-lab, oral presentations and intensive instruction in the form of sessions or working seminars. Group lectures are largely based on discussion of the reading list. See the individual course description for further information.
