Education for Special Needs 2, 1-semester Programme

Qualified teachers (pre-school, general, subject-specific teachers as well as teachers with a minimum of one year's practical-pedagogical education) + completed Special Education 1, one-semester programme

Focus will be on children and young people with interaction problems, how to conduct professional work in special education / didactic work in order to improve the quality of life and living conditions with a special emphasis on systematic-theoretical perspectives.

The Examination Regulations of the University of Agder regulate the graduation requirements for each programme of study.

Studieplanramme

After having completed the programme, students should - be knowledgeable about interaction skills - be able to show independence and co-operation in order to cope with life situations and living conditions - be knowledgeable about initiating efforts and rehabilitation with special emphasis on utilising networks

Lectures, seminars, group work, assignments and individual study.

Individual written and individual oral examinations and a group assignment

Students may spend a semester at a university with which the University of Agder has a collaborative agreement.

Completion of the programme qualifies applicants for admission to the Master´s Degree Programme in Education.

Graduates may enter a profession working with children, adolescents or adults in pre-school, school and other settings where special educational needs are found. Successful completion of the programme qualifies applicants for admission to the more advanced programme Special Education 2 .
