General description and profile of the programme The one-year programme in Education consists of courses included in the three first terms in the Bachelor's Degree Programme in Education.

Graduation requirements The Examination Regulations of the University of Agder regulate the graduation requirements for each programme of study.

Learning outcomes After having completed the programme, students should - have a basic understanding of basic educational concepts, learning and learning processes, groups, interaction and communication, children and adolescents´ use of media, use of ICT in educational contexts and the multicultural society´s influence on educational work.

Teaching methods Lectures, seminars, counselling, project work, semester assignments, portfolio assessments and student proposals. Students will experience working individually as well as in basic/seminar groups and discussion groups.

Assessment methods Written examination (individual and group), home assignments, semester assignments, project assignments, oral examinations and portfolio assessements

Requirements for continuing in the study programme The One-Year Programme in Education may be an integral part of various Bachelor Programmes.
