Admission requirements Students attending the Preschool Education Programme must have completed the first two years of the Pre-School Teacher Education Programme.

General description and profile of the programme The programme qualifies students to work with young children (0-3 years) in pre-school, to professional reflection and action when it comes to development- and learning environment for young children. The programme will help students to focus on and give value to the young children social adjustment

Graduation requirements The Examination Regulations of the University of Agder regulate the graduation requirements for each programme of study.

Learning outcomes On successful completion of the programme, the students should -be able to understand and reflect upon the significance of interaction for young children´s learning and development - have increased their awareness and involvement regarding the young children´s living conditions - be able to reflect on and contribute to new knowledge about the young children through attendance to and observation in practice

Teaching methods Lectures, dialogbased teaching, seminars, counselling and self-tuiton.

Assessment methods Individual Portfolio assessment.

Occupational profiles of graduates and access to further studies The programme is part of the Pre-school Teacher Education Programme and qualifies students for working at the pre-school level, especially in groups of young children.
