Students attending the Preschool Education Programme must have completed the first two years of the Pre-School Teacher Education Programme.
The programme qualifies students to work with young children (0-3 years) in pre-school, to professional reflection and action when it comes to development- and learning environment for young children. The programme will help students to focus on and give value to the young children social adjustment
Arrangements for the recognition of prior learning are described in the information on the institution under "General arrangements for the recognition of prior learning (formal, informal and non-formal)".

The Examination Regulations of the University of Agder regulate the graduation requirements for each programme of study.
On successful completion of the programme, the students should -be able to understand and reflect upon the significance of interaction for young children´s learning and development - have increased their awareness and involvement regarding the young children´s living conditions - be able to reflect on and contribute to new knowledge about the young children through attendance to and observation in practice
Lectures, dialogbased teaching, seminars, counselling and self-tuiton.
Individual Portfolio assessment.
The programme is part of the Pre-school Teacher Education Programme and qualifies students for working at the pre-school level, especially in groups of young children.
