On successful completion of this course, the students should be able to: develop, communicate and guide music activities in Kindergarten. perform music for children in Kindergarten develop and guide music activities based on childrens play see music as an important subject in interdisciplinary projects use theoretical knowledge and didactic reflections communicate songs, singing games and rigmaroles from children`s culture

The students will acquire the attitude, knowledge and practical skills which are essential for the musical learning and development of children in pre-school age. The students will acquire knowledge of music theory and children´s musical development. They will also receive knowledge of how to guide different music activities in kindergarten. Training in guitar or djembe and in singing is a central part of the teaching.

The course makes use of lectures, group seminars, practical work and individual work. Compulsory attendance.

- Compulsory assignments - Give a repertoirelist with various songs and music activities - Teaching practice, assessed as passed - Compulsory attendance, assessed as passed

- 4 hour written exam - Practical exam (for 1/3 of the students) Assessed on the basis A-F (with A as the highest level and F as fail).
